Windows: “isn't commonly downloaded” warning

Windows shows this for any new app that isn't yet on Microsoft's reputation list. The installer is safe — here is how to get past it:

  1. In the browser's download bubble, click the … (three dots) next to the file, then Keep.
  2. Choose Show more → Keep anyway.
  3. Open the installer. If “Windows protected your PC” appears, click More info → Run anyway.

Chrome shows a similar prompt: click the file's menu → Keep → Keep anyway.
